Advantages of Netnography
- Higher scope of potential valuable data

- It is contemporary
- Largely empirical (quantifiable, measured) and not contextual - quality wise still questioned
- Researches may not be familiar with online platforms or choose irrelevant online platforms
- Data collection and analysis may be time-consuming or may have invalid date
TASK
For this course, we create groups and work to explore the theme of a certain culture. The theme given for this semester is purpose. In the beginning we had a couple of ideas and I suggested us to research a little bit then put it on padlet, afterwards we could vote on which culture seems pretty solid.

I personally suggested chinese calligraphy as it has been a long culture that sticks even until modern now, however after hearing the pitches from my other groupmates, hiphop culture seems more interesting and there is so many things we can explore from the culture. Hence why during the voting session, I too chose the hiphop culture.
During feedback session, we were asked to narrow hiphop culture down, as per our research there are subgroups to it.
Attached below are our group's work on the small research about hiphop before narrowing it down to rap.
Following sessions after sessions of discussions and feedbacks, we finalize our proposal before forwarding to Mr Rizal.
Adhering to the instructions, we moved the proposal to a slides presentation and did the presentation for submission by doing it individually and submitting the videos to Evaleez, our group leader.

Group Feedback
- Need to find the purpose of the project and the message that we want to convey
- Not just think of the output, because pre-determining the output can make the whole research point to that output only and not the culture itself.
- Can look into the 16 lines used in rapping
- Album cover can be used as one of the 5 sketches
- Can look into the other elements of hip hop/ indonesian hip hop/ hong kong hip hop
- Can maybe brainstorm on why we choose hiphop and BLM
- Narrow down hip hop
General Feedback
- For the proposal, find the objectives of the research. What kind of questions you want to be answered before starting the research
- Can do more than 1 proposal (must me 200 words each)
- Proposal must include: Research question, objectives, rationale, sketches
WEEK 2 :
Group Feedback
- No issue with the RQ and RO
- Find someone from other country as well to have a comparison. Find out where they get the influence.
- Contact mr. Asrizal’s friend Micwrecka, Part of ==> Rogue Squadron
- Find the references for the ideas. Include some visuals
General Feedback
- Need to get terms right
- Purpose: Why is it important to understand this culture? Why are you researching this?
- Have an assumption of what kind of answers you can get from your research questions (inductive reasoning?)
- How do the answers help with answering your problem statement?
- Not just yes/ no, try to dig deeper into the topic
- Research question and objective is the same thing
