Final Project
FINAL PROJECT
For our final project, we are to start since the beginning of the semester
by dividing the class into groups. The final project we were supposed to
do is a motion graphic project about Sex Education. My group chose to do
the topic "Your Body". Mr Martin already prepared the voice over for the
project, and for our first assignment, we have to read the transcription
of the script and decide which topics are sensitive since the video will
be intended for the general public viewing.
Below attached is the illustration alternatives we found in the internet
for the sensitive topics in the project.
On our second meeting, we were asked to try draw story board for the most
challenging scenes. During this opportunity too, we chose the overall
moodboard for the project. Below attached is the story board for the most
challenging scenes according to us.
Afterwards, we assigned ourselves and breakdown the script before starting
to work on the corresponding part's story board. Attached below is the story
board breakdown and the sketch for the story board itself.
After feedback and green light from Mr Martin, I as the group leader
divided the group into animation team and illustration team, I myself joined
the illustration team and started working. I worked together with my friend
Luisa where I would trace her sketch she did on her iPad to illustrator. We
chose color palette and decided on the overall illustration look together so
the rest of the illustration team can work based on them and would look
uniform in the end.
In the beginning, I made the mistake of doing everything in the same
file,

However I realized I need to seperate each artboard into different files. Of course, during this part I had to seperate the layers so the animation team could animate them easier.

After finishing everything, the animation starts and they compiled the animation altogether.

Afterwards, sir Martin contacted me and gave feedback as he wanted us to use more sound effects, so my animation team added more and reuploaded the same video with more sfx
REFLECTION
This is one of the first project that requires us to do it as a group. In the beginning I was assigned as the group leader. I have to admit that it was a new experience for me to lead a group and had some issues in the beginning, mainly because it seems like the group is working a bit passively, afterwards I try to figure out that I should be more stern, but also more understanding and teach my groupmates if they didn't understand it yet. In this opportunity I was also faced with challenges and had to make decisions for the whole team. All in all, I had a few lessons learnt by being the leader and the person in charge of the group.
