INSTRUCTIONS
TASKS
For our first task, we are required to think well about what our specialization are going to be, and from then on we need to find an issue or topic interesting enough to do for our research. I knew I am going to be doing UI/UX therefore I went ahead and look for articles online.
I found the topic of e-commerce really interesting and turns out there was an issue within it that consumers are rather less loyal and this meant a loss of revenue to the business. I also found out that improving UX could help.
I got approved for the specific topic and from then on, it is just a matter of drafting, drafting and drafting until I get the final proposal.
Afterwards I got feedback and revised my proposal
After finishing, I put them on a presentation deck and submitted it for my revised proposal.
FEEDBACK
REFLECTION
I think the hardest part is me trying to look for suitable articles and focus on just one topic, afraid of making the research scope too big. I was not sure how detailed Ms Hayati wanted me to research, so that's another issue. I scooped around and did some more digging in google to find several articles I find interesting within UI/UX. I started working on the problem statement by using the ideal - reality - consequence idea. This took a really long time too since I also need to back the statement up with more research papers that are far too few than I’d actually like. Overall, the experience was a bit intimidating at first but turns out the issue I picked was a pretty good choice since a lot of people especially business owners has been complaining about it and my statement was backed up by a lot of experts.
