INSTRUCTION
TASK
Part 1
As explained in the slides (available
here), we were asked to shoot some videos, learning about composition and the
size of our shots. Here I compiled them in Premiere Pro and also added
caption.
Part 2
We were also asked to do more editing exercise where we used our senior's
footages. Here we are taught on how to use shortcut I and O to cut each
scenes before moving it to the timeline. We are also introduced to effects
and transitions (cross fade and dip to black). To understand which videos we
will be putting first and after, we need to read the storyboard first, which
is also available already in the google drive
I personally think editing videos are really fun and although I am still
new to Premiere Pro, I have been liking the aspect of video editing since I
was younger. Editing videos exercise are slowly becoming my
favorite.
Part 3
For our third week, we had to create a simple music video. I grouped up
with my friends, Michelle and Luisa and we chose The Weekend by SZA for our
choice of music. We then proceded to record each our part and I asked them
for help (and also directing while in front of camera) what kind of video I
want to create in the span of 30s.
With this opportunity too I discovered Low-pass audio effect in Premiere
Pro. It is what you hear in the first couple seconds of the video
below.
For this task, we got to shoot the trailer video of a Korean drama and we
did a group shooting exercise! Fun because I had the opportunity to be the
director (the actual director Ataka got covid and so did the other assistant
director Angelyn). I also got to work with a bunch of classmates and it was
really exciting. I was then helped by Audrey Gracia (Audrey Jefferlyn is our
actor, yes, we have two audreys) and Safanah as my assistant directors. I
learnt a lot from this experience, learn to be more assertive as a leader.
It was very awkward at first I admit, especially when directing sounds like
a job where you have to keep people in check, be upfront with them and
honest if you do not like the shot and such.
Here are some pictures from the shooting, I promise I actually worked
and was not just there looking all jobless.

I compiled all of the footage together and ended up with this.
REFLECTION
Shooting and editing are both equally as fun. I myself wish to try and use
the camera more as I love taking photographs myself. This part of the module
is really fun and premiere pro skills are always appreciated.
