TASK 2

PROTOTYPING! Oh gosh.

crammed everything in a span of a week to do 2 unity prototypes when I am barely understanding the app itself.

First, finished the art in illustrator. Then I started with the rigging. Before anything I wanted to finish the rigging and animation needed. Oh this took QUITE some time.

Suffice to say I AM STRUGGLING. But I figured it out and my Kraken boss actually looks great. LOOK AT THEM BONEZ.

Alongside that, I also tried to finish the background (spoiler alert : I did not use it in the final prototype).

Here's me setting up everything in unity.

.... Just take a look at that.

Then I started to build the needed mechanics, use the box collider and scripting (to save the eyes of the reader i will not be showing it.)

The important mechanic I implemented is the puzzle mini game inside my game. THIS TOOK SOOOOOO LONG.

But hey it works. so there's that. this is the video of the tutorial I used.

THERE WERE SO MANY BUGS. I had to remove some key mechanics like the oxygen bubble and floating (it was not fixed yet anyways). Also had to only include 1 puzzle since it was too difficult and time consuming, not realistic for me to make it 3.

Finally, this is the presentation for my prototype.

REFLECTION

Oh gosh I honestly think this is one of the most challenging course I have ever done in the span of my study. There were just too many bugs that I had spent too much time dwelling on that I could not proceed well to the other stuff that I had to also work on. It was a bit too difficult to navigate around especially with the coding because I had to follow so many tutorials from youtube and from AIs. Just glad it's almost over.
