TASK
The main tool we'll be using in this exercise is the brush tool and eraser
tool. For starters, I'll be coloring the skin. It is important to note that I use my pen tablet for the most part of the exercise since by using tablet I can have the ability of playing with the pen pressure sensitivity.

In order for the color to not look weird, I have to use the blending mode on the layer. In the beginning of coloring process, I chose overlay for most of the layers.

However, after some thoughts I decided to change to soft light to create less harsh coloring on the picture.

One of my main concerns while coloring the skin is how it looks really flat. Therefore, I tried to play around with adding more colors to the skin. For this part I use the clipping mask technique so I won't color more than what I already did in my base.

In order to blend well with the original skin color, I used multiply blending mode too on the red maroon color. I also turn down the opacity a little bit.

Next, I move on to the eyes. Firstly, I colored white on the eyes as a base for it and used Overlay blending mode to make the eyes shine more.

Afterwards, I added a clipping mask and colored the eyes with dark hazel color.

I then did the same things to the hair and eyebrow and used the Soft Light blending mode. After some more thoughts, I changed the color of the skin so it'll look more natural.

I also made sure to color the shirt and the coat. Both uses Soft Light blending mode. For the last part I had to recolor the background. I actually could just use the brush but there's an easier way by first creating a selection mask with quick selection tool and add masking to the layer that's filled with the color as seen in Figure 1.11.

I also changed up the hue/saturation as shown in figure 1.12 to make the background looks more seamless.

With that, I am done recoloring the picture. Here is the after picture.
